“Remember, remember, the 5th of November the Gunpowder Treason and plot;
I see of no reason why Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot.”
Not only did I see fireworks on the 2nd November, I also saw them on the correct night! This time the fireworks were in Brokewell Park in Lambeth in London. The event started at 5, display at 8 and finished at 10. The event was free, which was nice.
My girlfriend and I arrived at Herne Hill station at 7, waited outside the station for 20 minutes for friends among the masses of other people waiting for friends. We finally found them (waiting 15 feet away) and went to the park. 3 people from the group were still missing – 1 who turned up seconds before the fireworks and the other 2 were no where to be found for the whole night (not strictly true – we did meet them afterwards at the train station).
No stories about food as we didn’t have any there (queues were massive) so let me talk about the main event – the fireworks. The firework display was awesome! There were fireworks which created hearts, created smiley faces, colours of the rainbow, spins, twirls and mighty bangs. There were all kinds from fountains, rockets and fireworks that nearly lit up the whole sky. The music choice wasn’t great but the fireworks themselves were awesome. I was a big fan!
You can not overdose on fireworks it seems.
